TMJ, FACIAL & JAW PAIN
TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) disorders are a group of problems that are related to the jaw. These disorders are identified if you experience symptoms like pain or a ‘clicking sound’ and it so happens because the joints of the jaw and the chewing muscles do not exercise simultaneously.
While some TMJ might lead to serious problems, but early detection and treatment can turn fruitful if you approach White Crown Dentistry.
Despite the treatment being tedious, we at White Crown Dentistry assure our co-operation and efficacy in making our patients comfortable and their jaws healthy.
So, we make use of low level laser therapy (LLLT) that has been supremely beneficial in treating TMJ disorders by reducing discomfort, pain, swelling and inflammation too!
Facial Pain & Jaw Pain
Jaw & teeth are connected to the muscles of face & head. There are heavy forces on teeth and muscles during chewing and swallowing food.
When there is an imbalance of forces on teeth/jaw; it causes imbalance in facial & head muscles.
These muscles eventually get fatigued and start aching. Typical symptoms would be pain or discomfort during chewing. Eventually muscles ache without having to chew anything.
Relying on pain killers in such a case, is a temporary solution. It can mask the symptoms and allow disease to progress to next level which could be detrimental for the body.
